love

simplytraci:

if you knew someone else would make your significant other happier would you really let them go in order to see them reach their full potential of happiness? Even though that seems hard to bear I think that’s the kind of love that everyone should strive for. The kind that is completely unselfish of our own personal desires and the complete understanding and care for another being. Not to make someone else as happy as you can, but to want them to be as happy as they could possibly ever be even if that excludes you.

Movement is a Lifestyle: La Jolla Cove Engagement Shoot // Keone Madrid & Mariel Martin

dancingshutter:

Before I flew back out to San Francisco, I had the pleasure of shooting Mariel Martin and Keone Madrid’s engagement photos. These two were the funnest, weirdest, most perfect madly-in-love couple I have ever shot. It was definitely at the top of my favorite photo shoots…

Working aquatic-elephants like Rajan used to be a regular sight in the Andaman Islands, south of India, but this 60-year-old five tonne Asian elephant is the last of his kind. Thanks to the introduction of motor boats and other energy-saving technology, Rajan no longer needs to swim miles between islands to work for his masters, but can now enjoy swimming purely for pleasure. Rajan still swims for ten minutes twice a day, completing about 500 yards before heading back to shore. Brazilian Photographer, Daniel Botelho, 30, travelled to the Andaman Islands in the Indian Ocean after hearing stories of islanders swimming with the giant beasts. He said: “I almost got killed by the elephant during one photo shoot. Suddenly a swell came and took me and the elephant by surprise. I was stuck in the sand because of the crash of the wave. He did his best not to kill me - I felt him rolling on top and away from me.” Picture: Daniel Botelho / Barcroft Media

It is a risk to love. What if it doesn’t work out?

I’m not a believer in predetermined fates, being rewarded for one’s efforts. I’m not a believer in karma. The reason why I try to be a good person is because I think it’s the right thing to do. If I commit fewer bad acts there will be fewer bad acts, maybe other people will join in committing fewer bad acts, and in time there will be fewer and fewer of them.
